Customs Declaration Service | Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) | Incoterms 2020
As of October 1, 2022, UK-imported goods started to be customs cleared via the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS). The customs clearances of exports will move over to the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) after March 31, 2023.
On January 1, 2021, the UK Government introduced Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) as part of their business support measures post-Brexit. Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) allows a VAT-registered UK importer to account for payable import VAT on their VAT return.
By agreeing to the relevant Incoterms 2020 rules for the international supply chain and then incorporating them into the contract, the buyer and seller will understand their responsibilities in the event of loss and damage.
